Why Compatibles

It’s a question just about every consumer has asked himself or herself at one time or another. Should I buy original (OEM) or compatible toner for my printers, fax machines, and copiers? For a myriad of reasons, we here at CROWNINK are strong proponents of the use of compatibles. As such, we’ve created this page to address and answer some of the most common issues that arise when our customers are faced with the decision over which to purchase.

There is no question that compatible ink cartridges will result in a significant savings for your office. On average, compatible ink cartridges cost approximately one-third less than OEM cartridges. Surely, any business would love to make as much money as possible, but it wouldn’t be truthful for us to say there’s no difference in cost.

When purchasing compatible cartridges, you’ll spend only a fraction of the cost of an OEM product. But that’s perfectly alright with us. We want your business, both today and in the long-run, and to achieve that objective, we’re here to save you as much money as we can.

The Environment

We care about the environment, and there is no greater way for us to work toward making Planet Earth a safer, stronger, more viable place than to promote the use of compatible  cartridges.

You may not have known this, but every discarded OEM cartridge adds nearly three pounds of waste to the world’s landfills. That’s waste which will require nearly 1,000 years to decompose organically. Buying compatible cartridges with CROWNINK saves an estimated 4 million cubic feet of landfill space every year. The compatible cartridge industry has made a marked and substantial positive impact on the quantity of harmful greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Recycling is something every citizen of our planet has a moral responsibility to promote. Here at CROWNINK, we take that responsibility seriously.

The Manufacturing Process

When your toner cartridge runs out of toner, the core of the product remains viable and useful for many more months and perhaps years. It simply has no more toner. The durable components of that cartridge are replaced and tested, rendering it fit for future use. After toner is added, you can continue to use that cartridge. The manufacturers, whether they be domestic or abroad, would obviously rather sell you the entire product all over again at a huge markup rather than offer a more cost-feasible solution.

That’s where CROWNINK can save you money. We offer the industry’s lowest prices on compatible products. (And naturally, we will take back the used cartridge from your machine so that our corporate partners may recycle the materials for future use. That will ensure the price we pass along to you remains as low as possible).

Compatible cartridges are built and designed to meet, and often times, exceed the standards set by the original equipment manufacturer, in the areas of performance, print quality, and page yield. Moreover, repeated independent testing on compatible ink has shown little or no difference in quality between compatible and OEM products. So if the quality is just as good, and the price is considerably lower, it really is a smart decision to choose compatibles over OEM products.

Our Guarantee

CROWNINK stands behind every product we sell. While there is skepticism in the marketplace concerning the quality of compatible cartridges, we stand fully behind every cartridge we sell. And the truth is that less than one (1) percent of all cartridges we sell are returned to us because of a manufacturing defect. But if you are dissatisfied for any reason with your imaging supplies from CROWNINK, simply contact us about your item and we will cheerfully makes thing right. That has been our solemn promise to our customers since Day One and we continue to honor our pledge.

Our Inventory

CROWNINK carries a compatible toner cartridge for every make of machine. Whether it’s compatible ink for printers, fax machines, or copiers. And whether it’s a Dell, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark, Hewlitt-Packard, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba, or some other brand altogether that you have in your office, CROWNINK has the compatible cartridges you need.

Magnusson-Moss Warranty

One final concern that many of our customers have asked us about is whether using compatible cartridges will void their manufacturer’s warranty on a printer, fax machine, or copy machine. The answer, unequivocally, is no. This was established with the passage of the Magnusson-Moss Warranty act by the United States Federal Trade Commission in 1975. Plainly put, the law stipulates that warrantors cannot require that only branded parts be used with their products in order for warranties to be retained.

The law derives its name from its sponsors, Senator Warren G. Magnuson of Washington State and U.S. Representative John E. Moss of California, both of whom were Democrats, as well as Senator Frank Moss of Utah, a co-sponsor. So remember, no equipment manufacturer can force you to buy solely or only their cartridges. It’s up to you as an informed consumer to make the choice.
